KIdance is honored to present London’s Olympic year Big Dance festival to international dancers. This phenomenal opportunity, just a week prior to the 2012 Olympic Games, is a unique chance to bring the best of Britain’s dancers together with those from overseas. Big Dance has a proud history of staging England’s largest participatory dance events and the KIdance team has a great history of presenting dancers and other entertainers from around the world at the Atlanta, Sydney and Beijing Olympic Games.

Dance the Icons

Postcard London is famous for its magnificent buildings, the castles, Westminster, Big Ben, the Tower of London, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and even its great soccer fields. Imagine being staged in the gardens of one of the castles, dancing on Parliament or performing on the hallowed turf on a soccer field. All of this and more was arranged for dancers in 2010.

Dance Challenge

Many studios routinely compete at the regional and national level, but rarely have the opportunity to compete at an international level. This prestigious and innovative dance showcase will be judged by some of the UK’s finest choreographers. Awards for dance training will be presented to the top performing groups.

Workshops

Take part in optional workshops led by celebrated English choreographers and dancers. These sessions are designed to give students exposure to different dance styles and inspire them to broaden their dance education.

Friends in Dance

Dancers share so many common ideals. Our Friends in Dance program has been created to help develop lasting friendships between dancers from different parts of the world. While in London, you’ll have the chance to meet and spend time with other performers from diverse backgrounds as you share the Big Dance experience.

The Big Dance Finale

Join a cast of thousands for a mass dance performance parading through the streets of London just one week from the start of the 2012 Olympic Games in a televised Big Dance grand finale. In 2010 the dance parade route ended with the finale in Trafalgar Square!
